The American M16 series of assault rifles are made mostly out of aluminium and fiberglass. The M16A1 was the first weapon to use the now common 5.56mm round.
It takes 20 and 30 round magazines and can be fitted with a grenade launcher. The M16A1 is the only member of the M16 family to have a fully automatic mode while the rest are only capable of 3 round burst.
Modern varients are highly versatile, with different barrel lengths, caliber options, optional stocks, and other upgrades.

Used by the U.S. military until replaced by the improved M16A2 and M16A4, the M16A1 required frequent cleaning. The M16A1 is seen commonly used by law enforcement agencies and Third World armies, particularly in South America and Southeast Asia.

The M16A1 is used by Pia as her primary weapon with a 40mm M203 grenade launcher attached.
